Hello, I'm Tristan Morgan, the proud owner and operator of Tree City Tax Service. Based in Northeast Ohio, I am passionate about providing top-notch tax services and fostering a sense of community.

My journey has been diverse, beginning with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Kent State University in 2009. Over the years, I've worn multiple hats, working in roles ranging from Quality Assurance and Chemist to Lab Manager. Seeking to deepen my knowledge, I pursued and earned an MBA from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management in 2019, focusing on accounting, corporate finance and strategy, and operations management.

Towards the end of my MBA journey, I established Tree City Tax Service from my home. The business has since expanded into a thriving office in Kent, Ohio. I take pride in serving individuals, households, and small businesses not only in Ohio but also extending my services to Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. While I have roots in the Midwest, my expertise knows no bounds, and I am delighted to offer my services throughout the United States.

Marketing Lead & Tax Preparer

I came to Tree City Tax with a background in small business marketing across many industries including haircare, houseplants, mattresses, specialty chemicals, and now, taxes! As a Kent State alum, it’s been delightful to be back in the downtown Kent area—you’ll likely find me eating at a local restaurant at least once a month so I can patronize every local business on our block.

My educational background is quite a journey—I got my bachelor’s at Wilmington College in southern Ohio with a double major in Psychology and Spanish. (Hablo español, pero me falta práctica). I then attended Kent State University for a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, during which I worked as a career counselor at Hiram College. Like Tristan, my career took a few turns, and I ended up in marketing before starting my own business.

In addition to being our marketing lead and a backup tax preparer, I am also a creative writing coach, life coach, and career coach for neurodivergent individuals. When I’m not at work, doing other work, or thinking about work I should be doing, you can find me playing Sudoku on my phone, arguing with my dog like she can understand me, or reading science fiction short stories.
